Let's Do Some Shopping .

Here's what an average grocery shopping trip looks like with 3 kiddos, their help and daddy.   :)

First we make our rounds through the non-food aisles in the order that they are set up in the store .. vitamins (oops forgot those yesterday), bath soaps, home repair (keep looking for a drain cover but they're always sold out) on to the electronics, pass by the kids clothes/shoes and head in to the produce.

My sister says we have it down to an art, we get it and get out.  When she was visiting a while back I took her grocery shopping with me and she noticed that I wasn't going as fast and asked if it was a different Wal-Mart (which it was) and she said she could tell because I wasn't finished already.  :)  ha!

Nidas and Oliver each pick their own pack of strawberries.
Notice Nidas with the mellon.  :)

Nidas loves oranges so he always gets to help pick them.

Leonidas LOVES to help grab things off of the shelf but this time I was a bit distracted when Jared pulled out the camera and said "SMILE!" .. see the tumbling box of ramen?  :)

Oliver helped grab some Quinoa  :)

Aveline .. well .. she just gets to sit and look adorable .. or at least try.  :)

NO, we do not let Leonidas run from buggy to buggy if the aisle is nearly empty.  ;)

Aveline snatched up some peanut butter cheerios.  :)

Nidas helping with the milk .. almost finished shopping.  :)

Stopping for a picture break.

At this point it was 6pm, our kids usually eat at 5 and are in the bath at 6, getting ready to be in bed by 7 so everyone was hungry .. we stopped and had a little snack .. cheese sticks.  :)

We buy ground turkey not ground beef.  Sometimes our local Wal-Mart will have these giant 3lb rolls of it so I snatched up two of them  :)

And thennnn we found the mega load .. 10 lbs of ground beef rolled up into one tube, we did not purchase this.

Getting ready to check out, here's what our buggies looked like .. mostly cold and boxed items in my buggy and a special uncrustable treat for the kids when we go to the zoo while daddy is on a TDY next week.

Jared had things like milk, juice, yogurt, chicken, ground turkey and some last minute grab by items .. like those chips.  :)

Filled up the back of the van and moving on to the middle section
(gatorade for the garbage man, otter pops for the boys) ..

Alright, a fully stocked fridge.  :)

Uncle Josh, if you're reading this (which you should be) we thought of you!

I feel like I must post this on here somewhere so I guess this is the place .. this is in no way a type of show and tell showing "how many or what things" we are able to buy at the grocery store, this was simply a little follow along in to how we shop, where we shop and what we purchase for our family on a budget.  :)

Up Next:  how we prep and store our ground turkey and all of those chicken breast, unless something awesome happens and then I'll blog about that.  :)
